I'm Sarah and I am just a girl following a dream and trying to make the world a brighter place. (cheesy, but true)
I believe that live performance is the strongest way to connect with strangers and tell stories.
When I was a child I had this dream to be on Broadway. Since then, I've been blessed enough to have a support system that supplied me with the training that I needed (thanks Mom and Dad) to follow that dream. Training from a very young age in harp, piano, singing, acting and dance, I was very disciplined in learning and refining my crafts. It's an extremely difficult and competitive career that can often get you down, but I do it for my Grandma who never could afford to move to New York but always wanted to be a star. For the young girl who was transferred to a different world the first time she heard a harp string being plucked. For the old man who can reminisce on his childhood and connect with a song I sing of a happy memory. It makes everything worth it just to see a stranger genuinely smile.
I graduated high school from Interlochen Arts Academy with a focus in Opera and went on to college at Central Michigan University where I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre. Since graduating in 2015, I've relocated to New York City and continued to work at regional theaters and on some of the worlds greatest cruise ships. I am growing and learning every day about this beautiful and complicated world.
I hope I've been able to make you smile and feel motivated to follow your dreams!
With love and joy,
I get the opportunity to work with some incredible musicians- but nothing is as special as jamming out with my parents. here's a little mash-up about dreams and being home:
